Alderman plays hardball with Children's Memorial
4:00 AM, Nov 8, 2007 - Downtown Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) is demanding that Children's Memorial Hospital build a 1,100-space parking garage -- and put traffic management aides and pedestrian countdown signals at congested intersections -- if they want his support to build an $800 million hospital in Streeterville. Reilly is the rookie alderman at odds with Mayor Daley over the mayor's plan to build a Children's Museum in Grant Park.
