Allstate stock falls after Q3 loss

October 23rd, 2008 12:07 PM - (Reuters) — Shares of Allstate Corp. fell as much as 8 percent on Thursday, a day after the largest publicly listed U.S. home and auto insurer surprised Wall Street with a large quarterly loss.

The stock recovered somewhat to end the day down 5.8 percent, or $1.64, at $26.59.
