What is "The New Eastside web site"?

Posted August 23rd, 2006 at 05:42 PM by Eric Frost

That is a good question as you might count four or five of them.

What most people would probably be referring to is Richard Ward's web site at http://www.neweastside.org. The site advocates for neighborhood concerns such the the pedway and contains a lot of information including historical notes about the area. Richard became president of the New Eastside Association of Residents (N.E.A.R.) last year. NewEastside.org also hosts a Community Notice e-mail list.

Air & Water Show

Posted August 18th, 2006 at 07:08 PM by Eric Frost

The Chicago Air and Water show is in full force. Although officially just Sat and Sun, it is actually four full days (including Thu and Fri) of action from various air acts.

From one of our windows we have a north view and although we are relatively low (20-ish floor) I can see at least half of the show, as I was typing this sentence, a jet roared past.

Jets - Chicago Air and Water Show

Posted August 17th, 2006 at 05:05 PM by Eric Frost

Yesterday evening and today I have heard the sound of jets flying close around downtown Chicago.

Our view is only a couple directions, West and overlooking Navy Pier, and I have not seen them, but the sound is unmistakable.

The Chicago Air and Water show is coming! Personally I believe this is the best event of the summer, the Taste of Chicago or the recent Tall Ships is nothing compared to this. You can't miss.
