Lakeshore East Featured in Tribune Article

"Evening had come to an oddly pastoral little piece of Chicago's downtown. Kids ran through sprinklers, dogs bounded around a dog park and office workers strolled home."




"While Lakeshore East is not the largest residential development downtown in terms of the area it covers, it has the most units. In all, 4,950 units, 1,500 hotel rooms and some office space are proposed."

GrubHub

I found this restaurant search engine which uses Google Maps and shows which restaurants in an area deliver. They cover just a few cities but luckily they do include Chicago. Look for -- Chicago restaurant delivery.

Erie Park

Although a bit of a distance from the "New Eastside", there will be a new park at Erie St. and the North Branch of the river.

The dedication will be featured on a TV broadcast tonight!




Alderman Natarus writes.. [the new park] "is a wonderful new amenity for the 42nd Ward.

Children's Museum to Move to Grant Park

CHICAGO CHILDREN’S MUSEUM MOVING TO GRANT PARK

"Mayor Richard M. Daley announced today that Chicago Children’s Museum will move from Navy Pier to a new building to be constructed on the northeast corner of Monroe Street and Columbus Drive in Grant Park.

The Chicago Park District will provide the site, which is at the south end of Daley Bicentennial Plaza, and Allstate Insurance will donate $15 million toward the construction costs, the Mayor announced."
