 Breaking out of car 'cocoon'
August 25th, 2008 05:00 AM - It's one thing to gripe about the evils of America's car culture. It's another to pry the car keys out of your own hand. George Zrust and his wife Nancy Sreenan of Evanston decided to put their own environmental ideals to the test this summer -- and go car-free. "It was a way to force my hand," says Zrust, 55. "I have to know I'm doing something, as opposed to just talking about it."
