| Chicago, IL (December 3, 2010) -- CHARM Outreach & Mentoring Services, Inc, will celebrate the season by using their inaugural holiday party to collect toys and donations for disadvantaged families in the Chicagoland area. The event will take place on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Tre’s Banquets and Catering, 1528 East 63rd Street in Chicago from 6pm until 11pm. The festivities include networking, door prizes, appetizers, and music by DJ Shan. Attendees are asked to donate $20 or a new, unwrapped gift valued at $20-$25.
The event is the final activity of the year in which the Naperville based organization expanded their operations to include several additional programs and community service projects in Chicago. One of the programs is a mentoring workshop that serves girls in the Englewood area, one of Chicago’s most underserved. Recent speakers include DuSable Museum CEO, Dr. Carol Adams. T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh, a member of CHARM’s new Board of Directors, encourages support for the party and the organization. “CHARM’s programs give girls and young ladies a different way to see themselves, carry themselves and expect others to see and treat them,” the actress and Chicago native says. “This party is not only a celebration of the work CHARM does or their largely volunteer staff, but a way to close the year by continuing to serve.” Founder Michele Traylor will announce CHARM’s upcoming programs and events, which include another first; a cotillion slated for July 2011.
