| Chicago Triathlon Location: Bike Course - Lake Shore Drive Randolph Street and Foster Avenue Date and time: Sunday, August 30th from early morning through late morning Closures: Two inside lanes of Lake Shore Drive (NB and SB) from Randolph Street to Foster Avenue WTC Fall Block Party at Loyola University Location: Pearson Street and Wabash Avenue Date and time: Wednesday, September 2nd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closures: Full Closure Pearson Street between State Street and Rush Street, Wabash Avenue between Chicago Avenue and Chestnut Street Ferrari's in the Loop Location: 71 E. Monroe Street Date and Time: Sunday, August 30th from 8:00am - 2:00pm Closures: Full Closure of Monroe Street between Clark Street and Dearborn Street Grand-State CTA Red Line Station Location: intersection of Grand and State Closures: State Street now one-way only between Illinois and Ohio; SB State detoured at Ohio Date and time: through spring 2010 Division Street Bridge Repair Location: Division over Chicago River North Branch Canal Closure: closed to WB traffic; open to EB traffic Date and time: through September Detour: WB-Halsted, North Avenue, Elston, back to Division Northwestern Memorial Hospital, 441 E. Ontario Street Northwestern Memorial Hospital has retained a contractor, AECOM, to conduct soil borings on the site of the out-patient MRI and imaging facility at 441 E Ontario Street. The soil borings are part of the preparation and testing for the new employee parking garage and child care center proposed for the site. This work will begin on Monday, August 24th through Saturday, September 5th and consist of drilling which may cause some noise and vibration. House of work will be from 8:00am - 5:00pm on weekdays, and from noon to 8:00pm on Saturday. No work is scheduled for Sundays. If you have any questions, please contact Victoria Navarro, NMH project manager at 312-926-5415. Wacker Drive ADA Improvements The Wacker Drive Interim ADA Improvements began on July 7th, 2009. The work includes removal and repairs of the sidewalk topping and localized street repairs and drainage improvements along Wacker Drive between Randolph Street and Van Buren. The repairs are intended to improve pedestrian access until the Wacker Drive Rehabilitation project gets underway, and is expected to last approximately four weeks. Children's Memorial Construction Update Children's Memorial Hospital continues construction on the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago at 225 E. Chicago Ave. (next to Northwestern Memorial's Prentice Women's Hospital). During August, they will continue steel installation and pouring of concrete for each floor. You may notice increased truck activity related to steel delivery and some noise as the steel beams are eased into place. Work will generally occur Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to late afternoon or early evening, and Saturdays from 8am to late afternoon. Work on Sundays is possible to continue timely completion of construction. All work will be performed consistent with the City noise code requirements. They will continue to update everyone on their construction progress. Huron Street Sidewalk Closure The sidewalks on the north side of Erie Street, the east side of Kingsbury Street and the south side of Huron Street have been closed. Pedestrian sidewalk traffic has been directed to use the opposite side of the streets adjacent to the construction project. The sidewalk closure will last for approximately 9 months.
