 Friends and family and lucrative competition
August 25th, 2008 12:26 PM - (Crain’s) — Monday is “friends and family” night at the Democratic National Convention. Headed by his wife, Michelle, a selection of those who know Sen. Barack Obama well will tell delegates and the nation why he deserves to be elected president.
But no speaker has a more unusual tale than Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes, who had his electoral clock cleaned by the South Sider when they met in the March 2004 Democratic primary for senator.
