"It is free and open," the mayor said. "That's why we have Daley Bicentennial Park, which is a building . . . That's why we have the Frank Gehry. That's why we have museums. That's why you have Navy Pier."

The mayor was apparently not asked what the hell he was talking about and if his gibberish was intended to evade the question or if he had merely forgotten to take his medication that morning.

You have to wonder about his grasp on reality or if he is just selectively admitting to facts...

When I read it earlier on the Sun-Times I thought the Navy Pier reference was out of place..

Of course, Navy Pier is not Grant Park, but I think the "Olive Beach" just north of Navy Pier may technically be part of Grant Park..

In any case, he's still wrong to mention it in the same breath as Grant Park.
