| I am not an Indian food fan at all, but I did try their lunch buffet and was quite disappointed in the food. But then, this is owned by the same owner as the Oak Park location, and I found that to be sorta boring too. Bland, overcooked, not spicy. The $10 lunch buffet featured some of the same mushy, overly seasoned dishes every other Indian buffet place around the city has. And I can't get over the idea that I am eating in a basement (ok, a concourse). No windows, and the smoky bar remains from the restaurant that was in the same location before (Christies)--how horrible.

We ate there last night.. we walked in around 6:30 I think and the whole time we were there there was just one other table being served though I do there there was one take-out and one delivery order... I hope they do an awesome weekday lunch business. I asked for my Gosht (lamb) vindaloo extra spicy and they did turn on the heat - probably one of the spiciest vindaloo's I have had. (Although serving with a flame underneath is a nice touch I like Indian restaurants sometimes do but they did not). As it was pretty empty, I would say it was family friendly although they just had one high chair. My older daughter thought the place was great too, too great in fact as she kept running around and since there wasn't an extra high chair to strap her in I had to strap her in our stroller for a while... The wait staff was very attentive and professional. My wife loved her "non-vegetarian" (actually lamb) soup and our daughters both ate lots of rice. I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10 and we'll go back. ![]() Eric |
