4:00 AM, Oct 10, 2007 - Three suspects were in custody and charges are expected after an armed home invasion Monday night in Evanston. About 9:15 p.m. Monday, cops responded to a report of a home invasion in the 1900 block of Jackson, Evanston police said. A 50-year-old woman told police she and several relatives and friends were inside her apartment when three men forcibly entered and ordered them to lie on the floor. One of the offenders was reportedly armed with a shotgun. The woman said the men yelled at the occupants of the residence as they searched the apartment, then left abruptly. It was unclear whether anything was stolen. No one was injured. The victim called police and described the offenders, and Evanston police in the area saw a vehicle speed away from the alley behind the scene, officials said. Two of the vehicle's occupants were caught and a third fled on foot before being captured. A shotgun was recovered from the vehicle. Click here to read the article... |
