The Crystal Lake man who survived a Sept. 8 car crash that killed his four passengers has been charged with misdemeanor DUI for allegedly having illegal drugs in his system, Kane County prosecutors said Wednesday. The DUI charge, which prosecutors said still could be upgraded to a felony, came as Mohammed Jaffrie, 24, was released from Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
