Chicago Police found the bodies of a man and woman Sunday morning in a Northwest Side park, several days after they were reported missing. The remains of Anthony Mitola, 43, and his ex-wife Veronica Bonnilla, 41, were found as police searched Gompers Park in the 4400 block of West Foster. The two were last seen late Friday morning in the 4900 block of North Kildare in the Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood, according to a Grand Central Area police detective. Police said Mitola wrote a letter to his mother stating that he and Bonnilla were depressed and were going to commit suicide together in the park, and police focused their search on the grounds.
