 Silver lining for Magnuson Christine Magnuson, of Tinley Park, wasn't expected to come close to making the U.S. Olympic swimming team a year ago. Monday morning, climaxing a meteoric rise in a sport where improvement is usually measured over years, she captured the silver medal in the 100-meter butterfly at the National Aquatic Center in Beijing.
