Has anyone gone to Tavern on the Park, the new restaurant next to Prudential Plaza? Wondered what you thought of it.
Does it have a back room, or is it just a small front area that is seen from the windows.
How is the food?
Thanks.

I have not been there although we plan to soon... I have read some reviews, also on their site you can see the menu.
It looks like metromix has a video review so maybe you can get more of a feel for the place from the video.

Doesn't sound like people are liking this place too much. Too bad....it would be really great to have a couple of nice restaurants in the neighborhood.
Some more LTHforum chat on the above...

Well, they may be expecting a lot.. I'm sure it's a step up from Seven or J. Randolph's or Giordano's.. :-)

Tavern at the Park was featured in Center Stage Chicago today --
Free-Spirited Fare: Food: Michael Nagrant: CenterstageChicago.com (http://centerstagechicago.com/restaurants/articles/five-for-frying-hogan.html)
"What's the can't-miss dish at Tavern at the Park?
Our Chicken pot pie and braised short ribs. They're great comfort food, and our pot pie is a little different because we use a brown sauce with wild mushrooms."
They also say that they are mistaken as a touristy restaurant but that they intend to be serious about catering to locals.

Do you know what type of restaurant it is?
I have never really known what type of food it does.
I got the impression It does roasts and tradition dinners.

We finally tried it two weeks ago, the food is really delicious, you need a big stomach to go there. My husband and me ordered a Cesear salad to share, when the plates came, it looks like we have two orders of salad, the salad is very fresh, I almost finished half from my big bowl. As for main dish, I have ordered sea scallops pasta, it is a little spicy, I love the sauce, the scallops were cooked perfectly, very tender and melt in your mouth. There is no room for desert:-) Go to try it out!
