Cook sheriff won't evict in foreclosures

October 8th, 2008 01:25 PM - (AP) — Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said Wednesday that he's ordering his deputies to stop evicting people from foreclosed properties because many people his office has helped throw out on the street are renters who did nothing wrong.

In my opinion - That sherriff should be crowned hero for the day.. Finally.. someone using a bit of common sense.
Don't let them bully you .. stick to what you know to be good.. and true and lawful. I am quite certain.. The sheriff didn't become sheriff.. by winning a beauty pageant or by being a good Dad. He knows the law..

The bank should continue renting to people in a foreclosure... ?

In what I read - The Bank is NOT doing what they are supposed to be doing.. they are sliding it off onto the Sherriff.. These are apartment buildings.. where Mr John Doe.. is paying his rent .. on time.. every month.. little does poor Mr John Doe Know.. his Landlord has fallen behind .. *gasp* .. oh well so what huh ? Toss him out I guess ? That is what the banks want to do.. they could care less about you.. or Mr LandLord.. or.. poor Mr John Doe ..
GIVE them the money!..
Oh wait wait.. no lets see.. MR Bankman.. has done some stupid things also..*scratches head*.. thats right.. Banks are folding right and left.. BUT we forgive them.. The public.. YOU .. your children.. your childrens.. children .. their kids.. WILL PAY.. the banks.. alllllllllll their misstakes back...its ok.. *shrugs shoulders*.. BUT ( looks back at poor Mr John Doe ) .. ( spits on him a few times .. gives him a good swift kick ) AND toss him out.. of his house TOO !.. just for good measure...

I would like to see if a high rise owner defaults on a mortgage or debt - would law enforcement kick all the residents out of 500+ units? Imagine the chaos and outrage! But essentially that is the same level of injustice kicking out renters when there is a foreclosure, on a smaller scale.
