Why is upkeep of Millennium Park costing taxpayers?

October 22nd, 2008 05:00 AM - <p>A South Side alderman on Wednesday demanded to know why Mayor Daley was spending $8.1 million in hotel tax revenues to secure and maintain Millennium Park when upkeep of the park beset by construction overruns "wasn’t supposed to cost taxpayers a dime."</p>

"Because of the problems now with funding everywhere, we’re going to try to negotiate with the company to see if we can work out something where it wouldn’t be as costly. . . . I’m hoping they will be kind enough to help us out," she said."
