Thousands call for higher state taxes, but no progress on budget talks

June 23rd, 2009 10:33 AM - (AP) — Illinois lawmakers returned to the Capitol on Tuesday searching for some way to fill a $9.2 billion hole in the state budget.

The date may be the only thing that has changed since they left town May 31.
