Cook County's struggling health-care system

The city plans to sell advertising on municipal property
Orlando Jones, a lobbyist, consultant and long-time fixture in Chicago politics, was found dead on a beach in Michigan on September 12th. The cause was apparently a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The city of Chicago has signed an $8.7m contract with Toyota to buy hundreds of hybrid cars for the city's fleet.

In another move to make the city greener, Mr Daley is considering a scheme to make as many as 1,500 rental bikes available.

The day I hear about Mayor Daley biking to work, locking it up on the street outside City Hall, then biking it home will be the day I believe he is truly honest about greener initiatives.
