I saw this is coming up next week --
"Bridging the Gap by Playing the Piano"
Monday, July 10, 2006 - 6:30 p.m.
Daley Bicentennial Plaza - 337 E. Randolph just east of Columbus Drive.
The Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park representatives will give an extensive visual presentation on the design and plans for the pedestrian bridge designed by Renzo Piano. It is planned to cross Monroe Street from Millennium Park to the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago.
We are now also approaching the one-year anniversary of the loss of the Lake Shore Drive pedestrian connection at Queen's Landing and Buckingham Fountain. With the Art Institute's new bridge, Grant Park could gain another elegant pedestrian crossing that might inspire Chicago to move forward on a much-needed, grade-separated crossing at Queen's Landing. Grant Park is quickly becoming home to many pedestrian and bike bridges.
Thank you very much for your interest and participation.
