First timer: Chicagoan who loves SD

Hey all,

How weird that there is a Steely Dan specific board on a forum about Chicago?

Anyway, I'm a huge SD fan, a musician and a chicago hometowner. I was at the Chicago Theater residency and coming to this board gave me an idea.

I have long wanted to record a tribute album of Dan songs but selections specifically from the early years. Songs like "A Little With Sugar" "Brain Tap Shuffle" "Old Regime" "Dallas" "I Mean to Shine" "Soul Ram" and, of course, "Stone Piano".

If anyone else is a hardcore dan fan, a musician and would like to give these oldies a shot, gimme a PM and we'll discuss particulars.

Do you know about the Reely Dan tribute band in the Chicago suburbs? Might reach out to them.

Also, do you know about Donald Fagen coming to town in a couple months? There is a concert in Chicago 9/11 - him and a couple other fogies. My brother is getting married that day or else I'm sure we would go.
