Went to Gage (24 S. Michigan) for lunch yesterday. Really quite good. The menu was a surprise.....lots of interesting choices and combinations you don't see often in Chicago. I had an angus beef salad; beef marinated in cinnamon and chipotle on top of watermelon, feta, mint and yellow tomatoes. Very fresh and good. Here's lots more talk about the place from LTHforum.com, a great site that spends LOTS of time talking about food and restaurants.

We almost ate there several weeks ago, it appeared in the Saturday Red Eye edition (subscribe for free at Subscribe Today! (http://www.redeyeweekend.com/)) a couple months ago and we headed out there, but we went around Millenium Park and came out on Michigan at Monroe and I misjudged the location of the address, so we ended up at Bennigan's across from the Art Institute.

Walking back we did peer into the windows and look at the menu, I would still really love to eat there but we did think Bennigan's had a little more space and probably more accomodating for two little kids..

By the way, I love the lthforum site, I haven't spent too much time on there but I asked about some spicy food suggestions last year and the people there were quick to make suggestions.. :-)

I've spent a lot of time the past few years at LTHForum. It's the first place I go to for info on a restaurant, where to find ingredients, even where to eat in another city. Overall, it's a bunch a passionate folk who really love to eat and talk about food.
