Daley’s Claim of Racism On Museum Is Wrong

"In truth, I have to wonder why Mayor Daley is so adamant about injecting hateful racist rhetoric into this argument, risking inflaming racial tensions?

Well, for one, let’s look at some of the facts.

I really doubt Mayor Daley knows anything about the Children’s Museum. After all, most of the people he hangs around with are not children but convicted felons, indicted criminals, sleazy lobbyists, corrupt business leaders and political low-lifes."

I disagree! About the crappy food at the festivals... it's just usually too hot and crowded to enjoy it properly... I love the variety. Honestly we usually spend all our tickets on taste portions.

But an interesting editorial and thanks for sharing.

I wasn't sure what to make of this comment --

"When we exhaust all our money, we walk to Grant Park. Look around. There’s nothing to do there. My kid immediately wants to leave."

They were in Grant Park. What part has nothing to do? My older daughter (2.5) loves the playground at Daley Bi and chasing rabbits and squirrels up the trees. Or birds. or just walking on any raised surface and jumping into my arms. I really enjoy the whole layout of the Daley Bi Plaza part of the park and walking through there...

It will be interesting to see what modern architects / landscape designers come up with after the Monro garage re-construction with regards to rebuilding the park.. but I don't think the Children's Museum would be a good part of that. :-(
