Standoff at Deerfield motel ends peacefully

4:00 AM, Nov 6, 2007 -

The 28-year-old man who had barricaded himself in a room at the Red Roof Inn, 340 S. Waukegan Rd., ended about 2:15 p.m., after police fired tear gas into the room and Salmon Hernandez "voluntarily emerged," according to a release from Deerfield police.
