Congress and Wells is downtown Chicago's most dangerous intersection for sheer number of crashes, data compiled by the state show. But it's not the intersection that's the problem, says a Chicago firefighter stationed nearby. It's the goofy way people drive. "Everyone's in a hurry -- they need to slow down," says Lt. Darnell Pettis, who looks out at it all from his fire station at 419 S. Wells.
