Meet-ups, Madeleine Peyroux & more

With just a week to go before Steely Dan week in Chicago, the default Danfan meetup place before each show is the Elephant and Castle on Wabash and Randolph, about 200 feet west of the rear stage door of The Chicago Theatre.

There's talk of a Weber Grill dinner night out on Thursday for the out-of-towners who like to hit the touristy places; while the locals have some other ideas.

Finally, the Friday night, "Internet Request Night" show overlaps with the annual Chicago Jazzfest a couple of blocks away. Walter Becker and Larry Klein's co-hort Madeleine Peyroux will be playing a free set at Jazzfest that ends about 20 minutes before the Steely Dan part of the show starts. Assuming Jazzfest stays on schedule, you could hit both.
