I think the Pentathlon is sponsored by the digital camera maker to make a sport out of photography... the medals are awarded to the photographers who assemble the best photographs of the rest of the Summer Olympic events. You'll notice that the Pentathlon is the only event which occurs in both the Winter and Summer Olympics. (just kidding).

The Pentathlon includes pistol shooting (not to be confused with shooting photographs), épée fencing, 200 m freestyle swimming, show jumping, and a 3 km cross-country run.
