October 10th, 2008 10:14 AM - (Crain’s) — Jeffrey Rein has retired as Walgreen Co.'s chairman and CEO, effective immediately.

He leaves after spending just more than two years as CEO and chairman in his 26-year career with the Deerfield-based drugstore chain.
